| December 2007: | The formation of three new Combat Brigade Teams are announced by the Department of Defense; one is proposed to be assigned to Fort Stewart. |
| August 2008: | The Counties of Bryan, Liberty, Long, and Tattnall; along with 12 of the their cities agree to form the Fort Stewart Growth Management Partnership (Partnership) to address impacts from mission growth at Fort Stewart on a regional level. |
| February 2009: | The Partnership receives authorization to proceed, accepting a grant from the Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) with the Regional Growth Plan. |
| April 2009: | Jeff Ricketson, AICP is hired as Director of the Partnership to oversee the development of the Regional Plan. |
| June 2009: | The Department of Defense announces the proposed Combat Brigade Teams included the one scheduled to form at Fort Stewart is cancelled. OEA determines the growth management project is still warranted for the region. |
| October 2009: | The Partnership issues a draft of the “Economic Impact Analysis” related to the Brigade Combat Team Cancellation announcement. |
| December 2009: | The Final Economic Impact Analysis is published. |
| January 2010: | The Partnership publishes an “Existing Conditions” report as the first phase of the Regional Growth Management Plan. |
| April 2010: | The Partnership releases draft recommendations to address mission growth impacts and planning objectives as the second phase of the Regional Growth Management Plan. |
| June 2010: | The Partnership publishes a draft of the Final Growth Management Plan, presenting the document to member governments and stakeholders and collecting comments for final revision. |
| August 2010: | The Regional Growth Management Plan is published. |
| August 2010: | The Partnership is awarded an implementation grant from OEA to continue regional planning efforts through June 30, 2011. |
